Surprise as new 12 Angry Men remake rated 18 for ‘explicit nudity’

There was widespread surprise at the news that a new remake of the classic 12 Angry Men had been given an ‘18’ specifically due to several ‘extended scenes of explicit nudity and sex.’

“It is a quite different interpretation of the story than people might be used to,” explained director Stewart James.

“I can see why people have been surprised by the adult rating, but it’s what I was going for.”

He went on to explain that, although he admires the original film greatly, it has now become quite dated.

“It’s quite stagey and staid. Very talky. If I wanted to make a version for the ‘20s, I needed to make it a lot sexier.”

In the original film, there is a problem with the air-conditioning.

“We keep that. We just keep increasing the heat until midway through, juror 4 can’t take it anymore and provocatively strips off in slow-motion. Juror 3 can’t take his eyes off the fully nude juror 4 until, unable to contain himself anymore he starts ripping at his own clothes and kissing juror 4.

“The jury foreman, despairing at the heat and his inability to keep control, steps into a side-room and we have an extended, and quite beautiful scene of self-pleasure as he tries to calm himself down.”

The new film deviates further from the original until ending in an extended orgy between everyone in the jury except for juror 10, who is ostracised from the group for his offensive views.

Confident of the 12 Angry Men remake’s success, director Stewart is already planning his next film.

“Seven Samurai,” he said.

“You should see how the Samurai bond on the night before the attack.”
