Saoirse Ronan cast in Sam Mendes’ Beatles films, likely playing Ted Heath

It has been announced that Saoirse Ronan has been cast in the upcoming Beatles biopic by Sam Mendes, with speculation that she will be playing Prime Minister Ted Heath.

“Ted Heath was a complex and sometimes difficult man,” explained The Rest is History’s Simon Schama.

“It would take an actor of rare skill to accurately convey that complexity of character. Saoirse is one of the few working today who could do so. Look at her work in Little Women. I genuinely believed she was little, and who can forget her in Hozier’s Cherry Wine video. If there is anyone who could convincingly portray the man who surprisingly beat Harold Wilson in the 1970 election, it’s her.”

Mr Heath was a prominent Tory politician during the career of the Beatles and was even mentioned in their song Taxman.

Although there has been no confirmation that Saoirse will be playing Ted Heath, evidence is mounting. She was recently seen listening to headphones. Potentially a podcast about Mr Heath’s unlikely rise to power or perhaps one ofElgar’s symphonies, about which Mr Heath was passionate.

Ted Heath was also a renowned sailer and Saoirse Ronan has probably been on a boat.

Despite the role of Heath being the obvious choice of role for Saoirse Ronan, there have been some outlandish rumours that she’ll actually be taking on the role of Linda McCartney.

“Well, that’s just ridiculous,” continued Schama, “Saoirse’s got different coloured hair to Linda McCartney, so that would never work.”
