Mad Max Fury Road

Charlize Theron makes everyone angry by driving a big lorry full of ladies the wrong way through the desert. Everyone chases her so she turns around and goes back to where she started. Some of the ladies survive. Mad Max gets a lift with her for a bit.

Trivia

Originally called Mad Max: Hyacinth Lane, the name was changed to Fury Road after objections from residents in Hyacinth Lane, Bittesford.

Star Tom Hardy was previously best known for writing a series of classic novels in the late 19th Century.

Director George Miller insisted on only practical in-camera effects. The only CGI in the film was used to cover up any CGI.

The Nicolas Hoult role of Nux was originally conceived for Christopher Biggins.

Bloopers

Whilst the vehicles are entering the sandstorm, Basildon shopping centre can be seen in the background.

Immortan Joe is seen holding a Tesco carrier bag, despite it being very unlikely that Tescos would survive the apocalypse.

Quotes

Mad Max: “Teapot! Teapot! I’m the Duke of Cumbria. Wibble.”
