It’s Star Trek, but everyone is all young and sexy and running about everywhere. Sexy Kirk fails to get off with a girl and then has a big fight, so he’s asked to join the Space Cub Scouts. He’s all sexy and reckless and doesn’t play by the rules so he becomes captain of the Enterprise and saves the universe. Old, not-sexy Spock turns up in a cave and wibbles on about timelines.

A surprisingly inventive hardcore sex scene between Captain Kirk and Mr Spock was cut but was made available on the original 2-disc DVD release
It proved impossible to find a suitable actor to play Captain Kirk, so producers used cloning techniques to create Chris Pine in a lab over the course of 3 months
