The Fugitive

Middle-aged man runs away from other middle-aged man classic. Han Solo is arrested for having a quite ridiculous beard and rightly sentenced to death. A big train rescues him and he sets about trying to prove that it was a man with a mechanical arm who had the beard. Meanwhile Tommy Lee Jones does lots of hard target searching to find him.

Trivia

The script originally called for a ‘soft-target search’ but Tommy Lee Jones improvised and changed it to a ‘hard-target search’ and so received an Oscar.

Mince fan Harrison Ford gifted cast and crew a copy of his new cookbook ‘Harrison Ford’s Mince’ at the end of filming.

Julianne Moore’s role was originally bigger but director Andrew Davis thinks that girls are horrid and smelly and so cut her screentime.

Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford collaborated on the title song ‘Young Guns (Go for it)’ and when released as a single it reached Number 6.

During the train crash, the cast and crew of the TV show Twin Peaks can be seen in the background. This was for an abandoned scene in Twin Peaks in which the cast and crew visit The Fugitive set.
