Amy Adams is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood today. She is lauded for her stunning work in modern classics like Arrival and American Hustle and was also in Man of Steel.
However, what many of her fans don’t know is that the Tinsel Town golden girl is actually half-mermaid.
“Oh sure, Amy’s half mermaid,” said a life long pal and confident.
“The top half, which is pretty lucky, when you think about it.”
“She told me in high school and I remember it really explained a lot because she always ate tonnes of fish and she lived under the sea.”
The Enchanted star is half mermaid on her mother’s side.
“Yeah, her dad, he was in computers or something,” recalls the pal.
“But her mom was a siren who would lure sailors to their death which, if you think about it, it was great that she had her own career because it was, you know, the eighties and my mom just stayed at home.”
In fact, Amy fell out with her mom when she first announced that she was heading to Hollywood to become a star and remain inexplicably overlooked for an Oscar.
“Oh my god, that was terrible.”
“Her mom thought Amy should follow her and become a siren, but Amy was determined to make it as an actress and so she just went which, when you think about it, was really the right decision.”
It was that determination that would take her to the top of the Hollywood A-list and, despite being half mermaid and starring in Man of Steel, will keep her there for a long time yet.
