Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is one of the hottest actors in the world right now but, in many ways, he is perhaps even better known for having absolutely fantastic haircuts.
Screen Idle can now exclusively reveal exactly why having such terrific haircuts is so important to Ryan.
He’s hiding a set of vestigial antlers!
“Yeah, Ry’s totally self conscious about his vestigial antlers, man,” said a close friend.
“Comes from when he was at school.
“The antlers were bigger then, or Ryan was smaller, I guess.
“Anyway, kids would pick on him, you know how kids are, they’d be all like – ‘hey, nice antlers, antler-boy,’ ‘done any rutting today?’ – that sort of thing.
In fact, it was the schoolyard bullying that gave the Green Lantern star the drive he needed to get all the way to the top.
“Oh yeah, for real,” remembers the friend.
“I remember that after one recess, these kids had hung a bunch of foliage on his antlers and he just came up to me and was like ‘screw those guys, I’m going to be a famous actor and make a bunch of movies that are sort of okay, before really breaking through as a wacky superhero who swears.”
He did, too.
He saved up and imported some expensive antler-reduction ointment from Scotland, got a great haircut and soon was starring in numerous films that were sort of okay.
Now, with Deadpool, he’s a bona fide star, but underneath that iconic red suit, he still sports a pair of vestigial antlers.
So, next time you see a little kid with antlers, be nice to them, because they could grow up to be a wacky superhero who swears, just like Ryan did.
