Review – Ready Player One

Yeah, so, totally mind-blowing idea, man. It’s about this world that’s totally rubbish so everyone spends, like, ages playing this game instead.

It’s like when Jet Set Willy came out, man.

I’d be at school and there’d be all these agents of The Man totally hassling me to, like, do equations and write essays about Baden-Württemberg, and I was all like ‘No way, man, I’m not going to be some sort tool of the establishment equation doer.’

It was like, they were trying to crush the spirit of humanity, man. Like, totally.

Then Jet Set Willy came out, and that changed everything man, it was like ‘screw you and your primary themes in Jude The Obscure, I’m going to play Jet Set Willy.’

And that’s what the kids did, man. We played Jet Set Willy and it was, like, anarchy, man.

So what if I only got an E in Woodwork and a D in Geography, it was worth it to totally stick it to The Man.

So, yeah, Ready Player One is totally like when we used to play Jet Set Willy, man. Except without those really screechy loading noises.

Screen Idle star rating **** – pretty great, but totally needed more Jet Set Willy.
