A new religion has emerged in the north of England that believes a local boy must have been chosen by God after securing a PS5 pre-order.
Pre-orders for the new console went live on 17th September and sold out in seconds. It is estimated that Sony made up to seven consoles available for order worldwide and so, whilst many consider the boy to be extremely lucky to secure his console, others believe his pre-order is a sign from God that he his chosen.
It is estimated that there are currently around four hundred ‘Preoderans’ in both Yorkshire and Lancashire but that number is increasing.
They hold daily services where they read out the PS5 pre-order terms and conditions, then play a bit of Crash Bandicoot. Occasionally the boy comes amongst them and displays his Amazon order on a laptop.
“The boy is blessed. He is truly blessed,” said Stewart James, a Preorderan from Blackpool.
“I feel so humbled to have been, however briefly, in the presence of one who will play the Demon’s Souls remake on launch day, who, in November, will leave this console generation in the past, who will lead us all into a bold new world of stunning, lifelike graphics and superfast game-loading.
The fortunes of those lucky few around the world who secured a PS5 pre-order are very different.
One man in Indiana has been forced into hiding after attempts on his life were made when he made it known he had a pre-order. In Argentina, riots against the Government began shortly after a local girl secured her pre-order, the Government has now been ousted and the girl is the country’s de facto new ruler.
Sony have issued a statement saying more stock will be made available, with four new pre-orders expected to go live in early October.
