Netflix Party is a new Chrome browser extension that allows friends and family who are currently separated to synchronise a film together and chat online when they should just shut up and watch the bloody thing.
“I’ll be honest, these are pretty difficult times and I miss my friends, I really do,” said film fan Stewart James.
“So this new Netflix Party is great, we can all agree a time, put on something shooty with one of the Ryans in and then everyone can chat online about what hat Ryan is wearing and what the baddie’s plan is when they should just shut up and watch the bloody film and they wouldn’t have to ask these stupid questions.
“Honestly!”
Kelly Grace has been using Netflix Party to stay in contact with her Dad.
“He loves watching these convoluted old spy films that have old British men talking in hushed tones in dark rooms about things other old British men talked about in other dark rooms in hushed tones,” she said.
“With the lockdown, it’s been really difficult for him to loudly and incorrectly explain the plot of the film to me, along with his wild and inaccurate predictions for what will happen next.
“Now we’ve got this Netflix Party, he can do that online when he should just shut up and watch the bloody film.”
Netflix Party is available here and is a nice way to stay in touch with people although, to be honest, you could just use WhatsApp and going in the other room because I’m trying to watch this bloody film.
