A sequel to the much-loved sci-fi classic Attack the Block has been announced. Set ten years on from the original, Attack the Block 2 will focus on John Boyega’s Moses and his career in IT.
“I loved making the original and have always been open to a sequel if it was the right story,” said star John Boyega.
“I think we’ve found it. Moses is now an IT project manager, and this film focuses on a particularly tough new project he’s trying to shepherd through.”
The film opens with a strange light in the sky. It’s night time, Moses wearing his best Next suit and driving his Ford Focus. Sexy and I Know It is playing and Moses is singing along. He gets to work, heads into a meeting room and flicks on a PowerPoint presentation entitled ‘Database Server Upgrade Project.’ He smiles, unaware of just how difficult the day will get.
“Like the first film, it takes place over a single day. But this time, Moses has got to deal with unreliable suppliers, a contractor’s food poisoning, unclear project milestones, and a loose cable on the PowerPoint projector system,” said returning director Cornish.
He also confirmed that there wouldn’t be any sort of alien attack in Attack the Block 2.
“No, I wouldn’t have thought so. That would be pretty unlucky, wouldn’t it? Have the same man have to deal with alien attacks twice in his life? No, that’s just a bit silly.
“I think that most people would agree that a particularly difficult day in the life of a project manager trying to run a database upgrade project could be just as challenging as an alien invasion.”
And the strange light in the sky at the start of the film?
“Just a comet,” said Cornish.
“It’s a lovely effect. Very pretty.”

New Call of Duty game to be a Musical
Activision has revealed some more details of this year’s Call of Duty game, including the surprising news that it will be a Musical.
The new trailer features a lavishly produced cut-scene starring Emma Stone and Hugh Jackman that depicts the future of bleeding edge warfare through a spectacular dance routine and toe-tapping light-jazz song.
However, the really intriguing news is the musical theatre elements will appear in both the single-player campaign and in multiplayer.
“Yeah, we’re really psyched to be introducing musical theatre into the Call of Duty series,” said game director Gene Berkley.
“It’s something the fans always ask for, they’re like – ‘say Gene, how about more brutal visceral deaths and musical theatre?’ – I’m really happy to say that, this year, we’re able to do just that.”
Gene also took time to explain how the musical theatre element works in terms of gameplay.
“Okay, so throughout single-player and multiplayer modes are Follow-Spot areas. Trigger a Follow-Spot and the screen will darken and a spotlight will shine on your soldier.
“A musical backing track will kick in and the player has to improvise a few lyrics into the microphone regarding the in-game situation, like – ‘Berlin Airport has been taken by insurrectionists, my singing in this game is totally the sexist.’
“In the single-player game, we’ve got an algorithm that will mark your singing and assign points accordingly but in multiplayer, other players vote on how well you did.
“I can see some real grudge sing-offs happening off the back of that voting system.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 or DUTY! As it will be officially titled, will be released in November and will be the first Call of Duty game to have a soundtrack you can give your Mum for Christmas.
