It’s the weekend! Why not distract yourself from the grinding misery of existence by drinking yourself into a stupor and passing out in front of these films.
Saturday
The Departed ITV4 22.30
Everyone betrays everyone else and Marky Mark (sans Funky Bunch) does excellent swearing.
On the Waterfront Sony Movies Classic 18.45
“I coulda been a contender” – should have made more effort and you would have been then. Lazy.
Jackie Brown Paramount Network 23.05
Everyone says the n-word while Robert DeNiro mumbles. Someone robs someone, someone else shoots someone. Good music I’d expect, but the whole affair goes on for three hours so you’re welcome to it.
Sunday
The Elephant Man BBC1 22.30
Early superhero movie. Apparently, Elephant Man is replacing Iron Man in the Avengers.
The Imitation Game Channel 4 23.00
Sherlock Holmes does serious acting and invents computers leading to millions of people doing jobs they don’t understand in IT.
San Andreas ITV2 18.45
The Rock beats up an earthquake. Earthquake doesn’t do it again. This film is on every day.
DVD of the weekend
Sense and Sensibility
Half of 90s equity wear bonnets and muck about in the countryside in Mum classic.
