Quentin Tarantino has confirmed that his final film will be a slice-of-life drama about life in a women’s shoe store, filmed entirely at ground level.
“It’s my passion-project,” said the Pulp Fiction director.
“I want to get to the beating heart of life in a shoe store or, should I say the ‘feeting’ heart.”
He confirmed that new film would be called Baby Got Sole and would be set in the late sixties or early seventies.
“We haven’t quite settled on the time-period,” he explained.
“I’m just researching in what year sandals and flip-flops were the most popular. There’s no point in doing a picture about a shore-store and having ladies all walking around in big, thick boots.”
The director expects the film to be quite free-flowing without too much of a formal structure.
“What I’m really going for here is that women come into the shop and take of their shoes, showing their feet, sometimes in stockings, sometime completely bare, then they try on some new shoes. Then they take those shoes off, again showing their bare feet. Then they buy the shoes and leave a bit later.
“I mean, we might have one of the ladies have been involved in an exciting heist somewhere and she needs to buy some new shoes while she’s making her escape.
“We won’t actually see the heist, but we will see the woman taking off her shoes to try on some new ones which is, I think, just as exciting.”
The customary Tarantino soundtrack will be released at the same time and will feature such songs as These Boots Are Made for Walking, Head Over Heels, and Get On the Good Foot, Parts 1 & 2, alongside several songs from Little Feat.

New Doom game to be set in Leeds rather than Hell
A new game in the rebooted Doom series is to relocate from Hell to the Yorkshire city of Leeds.
The original Doom was released in 1993 and, with its brooding atmosphere of menace and evil, many people originally assumed the setting was actually Leeds.
“It’s nice to make that full circle,” said producer Tim Bell.
“I was aware that many people in Britain had mistaken the bowels of Hell depicted in the original game for Leeds, but as I’d never been to either, I didn’t really see the connection.”
However, Mr Bell’s recent visit to the UK changed everything.
“I was on a business trip to London and, after losing a bet, I agreed to visit Leeds.
“Now, having seen it for myself, I can really see how people used to make the mistake, and I am convinced that it would be a perfect setting for the new Doom game.
The previous game’s final moments saw the player, after closing [nefarious big business] UAC’s portal to hell on Mars, being teleported to a mystery location to prevent him from interfering in UAC’s future plans.
The new game will reveal that location to be Leeds, specifically Beeston.
The player will then have to battle his way out of the town, negotiate that ring road, and then head back to the comparatively pleasant bowels of Hell for a final showdown with UAC.
It is understood that originally Portsmouth was considered for the setting of Doom 2, but that was considered too relentlessly grim for a game about battling demons in Hell.
