Studios have rushed to secure the rights to a comment that renowned author Stephen King made when he popped to the shops the other day.
A storekeeper reported that Mr King greeted him with the words ‘Morning, nice day’ before going on to purchase some milk and a loaf of bread.
“Anything new from Stephen is always a big deal,” said Stewart James, a producer for a leading film company.
“This comment, this ‘Morning, nice day,’ we can see a lot of potential for big summer release for this. In fact, it might even be appropriate to split it into two films for no apparent reason.
However, rival producer Adam Amy had more ambitious plans for a film franchise.
“Oh sure, the first movie is Morning, Nice Day,” said Mr Amy.
“Then the sequel becomes a much darker movie called – Evening, Lousy Weather and then completing the trilogy with Goodnight, Hope It’s A Bit Nicer Tomorrow.
“But, you know, now we’ve established a world, who knows what other pictures could spin out of it.
“Prequels, probably.”
A leading streaming company is hoping to make a ten-part TV series based on the comment that will be watched by millions and a different streaming company is planning a ten-part TV series based on the comment that no one will watch because their interface is dreadful.
The bidding war for ‘Morning, nice day’ is expected to be completed in the next day or so, but a fresh new bidding war could start at any moment for another Stephen King comment – ‘Say honey, what’s for lunch?’
