Slipknot to score upcoming My Little Pony: The Movie

Famously aggressive heavy rock band Slipknot have been controversially chosen to provide the soundtrack for the upcoming big-screen My Little Pony movie.

Director Dario Romero said, “We need a way to differentiate from the small screen, otherwise this is just an overlong episode of the sickly sweet TV show.

“For a long time we’ve been trying to diversify from the show’s classic under-8’s fan base into the… shall we say… slightly more hardcore element of thrash metal fortysomethings.

“Slipknot are just one of the ways we are trying to break into this larger demographic.

“Instead of a barrage of unlistenable, traditionally sweet and saccharine cowgirl-esque numbers My Little Pony fans will treated to reworked hits such as All Hope Is Gone, Pulse of the Maggots and People=Sh*t whilst – SPOILER ALERT – the film crescendos with Corey Taylor literally just screaming into a microphone as Twilight Sparkle solves some inane problem with disgustingly feel-good unicorn magic.

“It’s been a privilege for me and the band to introduce a more real vibe to Equestria’s fanbase and teach them that life can potentially be a little bit more of a kick in the balls.”

There will be new collaborations on the soundtrack with exclusive YouTube footage already released featuring Rainbow Dash duetting with the band on new song My Technicolor Yawn, whilst in a separate video that went viral, Pinkie Pie is seen playing drums on Ponyville Life Is Glue.

The upcoming My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: The Movie has been further delayed after a serious breach of colon etiquette.

My Little Pony: The Movie opens on October 6th.
