Shock and confusion as new film not set in multiverse

An old woman at a computer looking confused that a new film not set in multiverse

There was confusion and not a little shock at the announcement that a new film would not be set in some sort of multiverse.

Whoops, There Goes My Bottom is a new British comedy about a man and his hilarious bottom that, at no point sees any of the leading characters go through some sort of portal into a reality that is similar to ours but slightly different – where you have custard for breakfast or still listen to nu-metal.

“So, wait, this British guy and his bottom just spend all their time in our reality?” said a baffled Stewart James, film blogger.

“I don’t get it. If he’s not going to go to a series of familiar yet subtly different alternate parallel universes, how are they going to make a bunch of knowing in-jokes and throw in unexpected star-studded cameos from other, similar films?”

Mr James would not be watching the film

“Of course not. Why would I go and see a film without a multiverse when I could go and see the new Spiderverse films, this month’s Marvel spectacular, that Flash film, or any number of low-budget sci-fi indies.”

When Whoops, There Goes My Bottom was announced, it was assumed that it was about a man whose magic bottom makes him flit between the different realities of other British films and then, with the help of the Full Monty gang, Withnail, someone in a bonnet and Hugh Grant, has to try and get home.

Whoops, There Goes My Bottom is from the same team who made What Knockers!, which similarly, inexplicably, didn’t feature a multiverse.
