‘Alien: Hit the Streets’ reboots the series as crime story in the world of street dance

Alien: Hit the Streets is an attempt to reboot the popular franchise as a tough crime story set in the world of competitive street dancing.

Both the Alien and Ripley will return as mismatched cops working out of the toughest precinct in New York. When they discover that a recent series of murders is connected to the world of street dance, they go undercover.

“I think that, after nine films, people are getting a little tired of seeing Alien and Ripley in space, having a big fight,” laughs producer Stewart James.

“The characters are still great, but the formula needs shaking up. So, instead of having them fight, let’s make them work together.

“The dynamic between these characters is one of mutual respect but irritation. They rub each other up the wrong way, what with the Alien wanting to lay her eggs in people’s stomachs and Ripley wanting to wipe out the Alien’s entire species. So, making them partners, and forcing them to work together will really show the relationship in a whole new light.”

The film will also see Ripley breakdance.

“Well, that’s actually been part of her character since the second picture,” continues James.

“It was never actually seen on screen, but Ripley was always intended as a passionate breakdancer who could pop and lock and do the worm, spin on her head, everything. We’ll finally get to see that as she goes undercover in Hit the Streets.”

Alien: Hit the Streets will begin filming soon, and should has a planned release window of next Spring. It will be preceded by a single – Do the Funky Alien – by Ripley and the Xenomorphs, a pseudonym for Megan Thee Stallion.
