Filmmakers have surprised fans with the announcement that the sequel will be much darker than the original.
“The first movie was great,” said the director.
“I’m proud of it, I loved it, I’m thrilled the fans loved it. But now it’s time to get serious. Everything’s getting much darker now”
The director went on to explain how the characters will face challenge and adversity throughout.
“It’s going to be tough, really tough. Super-dark.
“We’re going to see them descend into a hell-like dimension where it rains lava and the ground is just all spikes and broken glass and the whole place is full of killer demon robots with psychic powers.”
However, there will also be darkness on a personal level.
“Oh god yeah, it is so dark. Everyone’s parents are going to die at the same time they find out their partners have dumped them for someone way better looking.”
There will also be stunning dark familial revelations.
“Literally everyone’s dead parents are revealed to have really been killer demon robots and it’s their destiny to become killer demon robots just like their parents. Dark.”
The darkness will be apparent immediately.
“Oh man, yeah. I’m telling you it’s dark. All the characters start the film on fire which really gives an indication of the adversity they’ll have to go through.”
It was also confirmed that whilst the sequel will be darker, that darkness wouldn’t continue into the third film.
“No, I’d imagine that we’ll realise that we went a bit too far with this one and just do something mad in the next one like introduce a race of teddy bears or send everyone back to the wild west.”
