Yeah, so, totally big deal because this is, like, Daniel Day-Lewis’ last film ever until he gets a bit bored and decides to come back and do another film.
It’s about this dude who makes dresses for posh ladies and that, and it’s totally a brilliant examination of how the artistic muse can so wholly dominate a life.
Which is all great and everything, but where’s all the phantoms?
I mean, you know, it’s got a phantom in the title so you should definitely get a phantom in the film. Or a ghoul.
It’s totally false advertising and that and it’s confusing because I thought it was totally going to be a scary film about some thread that was haunted and, you know, while all the people were in bed it made its own ghostly dresses that haunted the posh ladies who wore the dresses with terrible visions of angry spirits of other posh ladies who wore other dresses.
So, because I thought that, I went to the Splintered Foot beforehand for a couple of pints of Frantic Headbanger and the problem with Frantic Headbanger is that it can make you a bit sleepy.
So, I may have slept through some of the middle and a bit of the end of the film, but that’s totally their fault for not putting any phantoms in when they said they were going to.
Unless they did it the bits I was asleep in, in which case, sorry.
Screen Idle rating *** Probably needs more phantoms.
