Screen Idle, the Nintendo Virtual Boy of the videogame world, has claimed that Rampage, the recent Dwayne Johnson movie, could definitely work as a videogame and that if it were made would almost certainly be a huge hit.
“Yeah, so the film features The Rock teaming up with a giant gorilla to do a rampage,” said Screen Idle CEO and chief money-launderer Neil Tollfree.
“Something like that, anyway. I’ve never seen it.
“Now, that has got huge videogame hit written all over it, you play as The Rock and you get points by rampaging everywhere going ‘look at my massive gorilla’ and smashing stuff up.”
Tollfree went on to explain who it would appeal to.
“Everyone, it’s The Rock, for god sake. Throw in some boobs for the teenage boys and some swearing for the kids and it’ll be a cross-generation demographical explosion.
“So, games companies? Get in contact. I’ll give you the full story, you get some geeks in glasses to bang together the code and we’ll be rolling in money.”
Sadly, it became apparent within seconds of the announcement that the movie was in fact based on a classic videogame that has been enjoyed since the eighties.
Tollfree was sanguine.
“Ah well, I’ll just pretend I knew that anyway and was just being ironic.
“Might even turn it into an article for the site if I get hard up for ideas.”
