Producers of the forthcoming Star Wars film Solo: A Star Wars story are urging fans not to waste their time actually watching the film, and just assume that it was great.
“Hey, we’re proud of this picture and we love it,” said Peter Harrison, a producer.
“We know that true fans will love it as well so, and this is just a thought, but why not save yourself a couple of hours, don’t watch it, and just assume you’ll have had a great time?”
“How about that? That sound good?”
Mr Harrison made it clear that there was no problem with the film and explained that there was a perfectly reasonable explanation for the shoot overrunning.
“Everyone was having such a great time making the picture, that’s all. Nothing to worry about.”
Fans cautiously welcomed the idea.
“I do welcome the idea, but only cautiously,” said fan Barry Sith.
“I suppose that if I don’t bother actually going to watch the film then it would give me more time to spend being angry about it on the Internet.
“Which could be a real boon.”
Mr Harrison hoped that people would accept his suggestion.
“That’d be swell if they did,” he said.
“I just wish we’d thought of this with Phantom Menace in ‘99.”
