A new children’s’ film will homage the classic coffee shop scene between DeNiro and Pacino in Heat by having Papa Smurf and a Minion feature in the same scene together in a new film.
“Well, Papa Smurf and the Minions are two titans of films, very much the modern day equivalent of Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro” said producer Kathleen Ferrous.
“A lot of people have been trying to get them in a film together for a few years now, I mean, a minion and Papa Smurf meeting? It would just be momentous moment in movie history.”
The as-yet unnamed film will begin shooting this summer. The scene between the minion and Papa Smurf will take place in a coffee shop.
“Yeah, we wanted to keep it simple. I mean, these are two just massive icons of modern cinema, we could have had them do some massive dramatic set-piece with then angrily shouting at each other in the rain but it seemed too much.”
Mrs Ferrous gave fans an idea of what they can expect.
“It’s going to be intense. It’s going to be riveting. The minion will probably fart.”
It is understood that for a brief period, it looked like the scene would actually top the Pacino/deNiro scene in Heat by also featuring Captain Underpants but he was unable to commit to the film due to prior underpant engagements.
