I’m a Celebrity loser Noel Edmunds has alerted The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that he is available next February if they are still having trouble finding a host for their prestigious Academy Awards.
Whilst nothing has been confirmed, he has already made enquiries at his local Moss Bros to make sure they have a dinner suit in his size available for the evening.
“I’m not saying they should definitely pick me,” said Edmunds earlier.
“I’m just saying that I’ve got a lot of experience with hosting complex live television spectaculars, you know, from my days doing Swap Shop. Has Trevor Noah, and I really like Trevor Noah, but has he ever hosted Swap Shop? No.
“And has Kristen Wiig got a nice beard? No. I have though.”
Edmonds urged the Academy to take their time and consider his offer.
However, they have already responded coolly, giving the following statement.
‘We are grateful to Mr Edmondson for his offer to host the Academy Awards and do not doubt his impeccable ‘Swap Shop’ credentials, but we would be looking for an individual with a higher name recognition.
‘We also have no interest in changing the format of the awards so nominees have to bet against a banker to secure a box that may or may not have an award in.’
Breaking: It has just been announced that Kevin Hart will host the 2019 Oscars. Noel has issued the following statement – ‘Their loss’
It is thought that the Golden Globes have offered Noel the job of hosting their 2019, but he has turned them down as he’s ‘not that desperate.’
