New Tiger King season to investigate Frosted Flakes’ Tony the Tiger

A new season of Netflix’s documentary Tiger King has been announced. It will examine the life and story of Frosted Flakes (also known as Frosties) mascot – Tony the Tiger.

Best known for eating cereal and declaring it to be ‘grrrrrreat,’ Tony is familiar to many families, but the show will delve into the darker sides of Tony’s life, including the incident in the late eighties in which Crackle – from Rice Crispies’ Snap, Crackle and Pop – was found beaten and naked in a dumpster behind a motel.

“There was a culture of intimidation at Kelloggs, and Tony was king,” explained Tiger King producer Stewart James.

“Whilst, on the outside, he was just this ordinary tiger who wore a natty red neckerchief and ate vast quantities of breakfast cereal, behind the scenes, he was tough, dominating, and more than a little scary.

“Count Chocula reveals an incident when he’d just begun working when he went to the bathroom and was followed in by Tony who just stood outside the stall loudly growling.

“The Count, wisely, took the hint and deferred to Tony from then on.

“Crackle, however, did not.”

The Crackle case was the breakfast cereal legal sensation of the late eighties. When Crackle was found naked and beaten in a dumpster behind a hotel, it was initially reported as a sex-game that had gone very wrong.

However, rumours began to circulate that the whole situation had been orchestrated by Tony to discredit Crackle whose popularity, along with Snap and Pop’s, Tony saw as a threat.

“The whole thing culminated in the car chase, court case and ultimate acquittal, and we’re going to be taking a close look at everything there,” said James, tantalisingly.

So confident of the success of a second season of Tiger King is Netflix that a third series has already been commissioned that will, it is rumoured, examine the life of Tygra from Thundercats and his passionate and forbidden love affair with Lion-O.
