A new remake of classic Hollywood musical Singing in the Rain is currently in the works. However, the new version will be set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and is entitled Singing in the Acid Rain.
The story will feature a famous movie star coming to terms how an unnamed near-extinction level event has changed the movie industry forever and rather than starring in multi-million-dollar movies and living in a swanky Hollywood mansion, he’ll be starring in pictures scratched onto a wall and living in a cave.
“All the great songs will be there,” said producer Gwyneth Stone
“Fit as Someone Without Crippling Radiation Poisoning, Bleak Hopeless Morning, and Moses. Although we’ve changed the famous Moses refrain to ‘Moses supposes his toeses haven’t been chewed off in the night by giant ratses.’”
Described as a Broadway The Road, Singing in the Acid Rain hopes to capitalise on the audience who went to see La La Land and enjoyed the tunes but just wished there had been more mutants and brutality.
“We’re aiming for a Christmas ’18 release date,” continued Mrs Stone.
“Because if there’s anything that makes people long for a cruel, bleak wasteland, devoid of humanity and civilisation, it’s the Holiday season.”
