New Ghostbusters Film Just Old Ghostbusters Film

Further details have emerged of the new Ghostbusters film – Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. It seems that instead of writing a new script and filming the story with different actors, the new film will actually be just the old, original 1984 Ghostbusters instead.

“Well, we had a basic outline for the story,” explained writer Jason Reitman.

“It was good. You know – terrible old artefact threatens new ice age – it would have been cool. But then we thought, instead of just having the kids from the first film, what if we also had the original Ghostbusters back as well.

“Then, instead of staying on the farm, what if they went back to the firehouse in New York? Then what if we got Janine and Walter Peck back? and then Slimer? Then, you know, we realised that, apart from the Stranger Things kid, no one really knew who the new Ghostbusters were, so we may as well lose them. Then, well, you know, the guys are pretty old now. They don’t really have the energy to spend days filming, so what not just use footage from that first film? So then, we started cutting together the footage to make the new story, but it wasn’t as good as the old story, so we decided to keep the old story and not cut any of the old footage, so this new film is basically Ghostbusters.

“We’ll probably change the subtitle – Frozen Empire, as it’s a bit confusing. Maybe just get rid of it. Probably just call it Ghostbusters or something. Pretty good name recognition.”

Middle-aged men on the internet have wasted no time giving their reaction to the news. 

“THEY’VE RUINED MY CHILD-…no, wait. Actually, just rereleasing old 80s stuff? This is brilliant. So much better than creating something new and interesting.”
