The moth who starred in many of the hugely popular moth memes of recent months has secured a substantial movie deal.
Little known before summer, pictures of the moth now account for some 45% of the Internet and a recent poll showed that only Mickey Mouse and Meghan Markle are more famous than the moth, something that the Queen is said to be really cross about.
“I don’t know what star-quality is, but that moth’s got it,” said Hollywood mogul Kathleen Donner.
“Seriously, I thought Ryan Gosling had star-quality, but Gosling’s got nothing on this moth.
“It’s going to be huge.”
Ms Donner announced that the first film in the deal will be a romantic comedy about a moth falling in love with a lamp, then will come a serious drama about a moth and a lamp addressing a crisis in their relationship, then an action film about a moth with a special set of skills who has to rescue a lamp from evil European terrorists.
“Beyond that, we’ll see. We’re kicking around an idea for a horror film with a candle but we’re not there yet.”
There has so far been no announcement as to who will play the lamp, but Matt Damon is rumoured to be interested.
