Marvel has teased fans with footage from the 2nd Ant-man movie showing The Wasp, the superhero who ruins picnics.
The Wasp, played by Evangeline Lilly, is seen buzzing close to a small child’s head until his mum comes to shoo it away.
“Yeah, we didn’t know to start with, I mean a superhero as a wasp? What superpowers would a wasp have? At least with a bee, she could make honey,” said Marvel executive Michael Downey
“But, they worked up some footage, and it really worked out. I mean, she can buzz around in your face and freak you out, ruin picnics by landing in the soda – she’s a formidable hero.”
Mr Downey also took time to reveal the villain of Ant-Man and The Wasp.
“Yeah, we’re real excited about this guy. He’s perfect – Doctor Swatter. He’s this evil genius who has invented this perfect insect swatter and he‘s going to completely wipe out the whole of the world’s population of ants and insects by giving the swatter away to everyone for free.”
Happily though, like all great villains, Doctor Swatter has his achilleas heel.
“Yeah, he loves picnics. So, it’s going to get crazy.”
It is understood that, if Ant-Man and The Wasp is successful then the third Ant-Man film will feature the new superhero The Mayfly – with the power to flap about in the corner of the room and then die
