Mad Max spin-off Furiosa to focus on her past working on IT Support Team

Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II have all been cast in George Miller’s upcoming Mad Max spin-off – Furiosa.

In a surprising move, it is to focus on the Furiosa’s past as a member of an IT support team for a major financial institution.

She will be depicted as a wide-eyed, young computer graduate whose only dream is to help people when their printer gets jammed or they’ve forgotten their password.

“If I was going to make a Mad Max spin-off, then it needed to be a film about how working on an IT support team can harden even the most innocent heart, otherwise, there was no point,” explained Miller.

“We begin with the young Furiosa graduating with a computer science degree and her excitement and hope as she gets her first job in corporate IT, but that joy is immediately dented as she is shown to the dungeon-like basement in which the IT support team have been consigned.

“From then on it is a daily litany of humiliation and mistreatment as people shout at her because an email took three minutes to arrive or they can’t insert a high definition clip from Family Guy into their PowerPoint presentation.

“Finally, after several months, she snaps, and moves to post-apocalyptic Australia to work as a brutal Captain or ‘Imperator’ for Immortan Joe – a barbaric cult leader.

“Her three months of experience in IT support for a corporate institution are the key to her survival in amongst the cruelty and lawlessness of a post-societal world.

“It’s really a timeless story of brutality, violence and being told to stay late to disinfect the CEO’s laptop after he accidentally downloaded 98GB of adult content.”

Furiosa: Have You Tried Switching It Off And On Again is due to begin production next year.
