The final film in the Jurassic World trilogy will introduce a new dinosaur based on 1980s Short Circuit legend Steve Guttenberg.
The Guttenbergsaur is, as far as science can tell us, a fictional dinosaur created for the film. It will have a cheerily handsome face and have much more of an unthreatening wit than dinosaurs we’ve seen before.
“The problem, I think, with all the Jurassic pictures, is that they can be a little lacking in humour, and what humour there never comes from the dinosaurs,” explained director Colin Trevorrow.
“The best way to remedy that was to create a new dinosaur based on Steve Guttenberg.”
The scientific rationale within the film is that dinosaurs, at the end of Fallen Kingdom, have escaped into the wild in US. Some dinosaurs have begun to integrate into human society, including a small group of Megalodons who obsessively watch Short Circuit, Police Academy, and Cocoon.
Because of the genetic modifications of the dinosaurs, they evolve much quicker than other creatures, and within six months, have evolved into the Guttenbergosaur.
“All our scientific advisors have checked this scientific logic and agree that it sounds quite scientific,” said Trevorrow.
The Guttenbergosaur will fight alongside humans in the battle for the Earth, keeping everyone’s spirits up with some good-humoured fun and by being boyishly handsome.
Trevorrow went on to reveal that there were some early plans to also create a Selleckosaur and a Dansonosaur and have them, along with the Guttenbergosaur, look after a baby dinosaur.
“We decided against that. You can take a good thing too far,” said Trevorrow.
