Marvel has confirmed that there was a typo in a previous press-release and a new film coming out next year will feature a super hero and not a super heron.
Announced earlier today Untitled Super Heron Film was greeted with excitement by a surprisingly large contingent of the Internet who believe there aren’t enough films about water birds with super powers.
“Gutted, to be honest,” tweeted House of Commons speaker Lindsay Hoyle.
“I can’t be the only one who is tired of seeing human beings with superpowers in films.
“A heron with superpowers would be brilliant. I’d be well into that.”
Popular theory was that it would be an ordinary heron who was exposed to radioactive waves and developed special powers.
Using the powers, he goes up against a villainous mallard with a plan to flood the entirety of Idaho in order to create a giant pond.
“I can confirm that Marvel does not have any future films planned about a Super Heron,” said Marvel boss Kevin Feige.
“Regarding the rumours about a Super Toucan? I can make no comment at this time.”
The news will come as a disappointment to Andy Serkis, who had been strongly rumoured to play the Super Heron using a combination of motion capture effects and a fake beak.
