Internet outrage as female character to be played by woman

There was outrage on the internet after it was announced that a popular female character would be portrayed in a new film by a woman.

“It’s just political correctness gone mad,” said Twitter user @Meninismist

“Why do I, as a man, have to have female actress forced on me, just because the character is female?

“It should be the best person for the job and that person is Chris Hemsworth or Hugh Jackman probably.”

The controversy is the latest in a series of high-profile casting decisions which have led to women playing female characters in a trend that is proving controversial with the internet.

“It was Wonder Woman that started all this,” said Jeremy Asshat, a film fan and campaigner for men’s rights who has never had a girlfriend.

“To be fair, that wasn’t a bad film despite the bonkers decision to cast Gal Gadot in the lead role.

“She was alright, but you’ve only got to imagine how brilliant it would have been if Tom Hardy or Ryan Gosling had got the role, instead of kowtowing to the woke, SJW, white knight, liberal, lefty, right-on PC-world-gone-mad trendy trend for putting women in everything that we, as men, have to suffer through.”

“Batwoman, The Queen, Fleabag – it’s happening all the time, and men need to take action immediately to combat this. Right now!”

Sadly, Mr Asshat was unable to confirm exactly what kind of action was required as his mum had made him tea, and then it was his bedtime.
