The Oscars to have new category – The most ‘Yeah, It’s Alight I Suppose’ film of the year

The Oscars have announced that next year’s honours will include an award for the most ‘Yeah, It’s Alight I Suppose’ film of the year.

It is being designed to highlight the work done by directors such as Zack Snyder and Renny Harlin and actors such as Henry Cavill and Cameron Diaz.

“I think that people are getting a bit tired of the Academy focusing on really good films,” said an Academy representative.

“The fact is, people love going to see the Ice Age films and thrillers with Ben Affleck in, and by not considering those sort of films, it’s just showing us to be out of touch.

The new ‘Yeah, It’s Alight I Suppose’ film of the year will be chosen from five nominations and the criteria will be that it has one great bit where something explodes or a car turns into a submarine, and it should feature either an ex-Friends star or a nice dog.

Film fans seem pleased with the announcement.

“Yeah, it’s great,” said Sally Paquin, as she emerged from a screening of Watchmen.

“Although didn’t they do this back in the nineties? I mean, I can’t think of any other reason Braveheart and Titanic would have won.”
