Fraud! So-called ‘professional’ gamer doesn’t even wear a tie

A self-described ‘professional’ gamer has been exposed as a fraud after it emerged that he

• Doesn’t wear a suit and tie.
• Has never had a Monday morning catch-up meeting.
• Hasn’t created a PowerPoint project for Q3 opportunity projections.
• Has no annual/ biannual appraisals.

The gamer – Stewart James – was hailed as a successful professional gamer late last year after winning £500k in a Fortnite tournament, however the cracks in his story began to show when tenacious business journalist Kelly Grace asked where his office was located.

“He just sort of half-laughed and said he didn’t have an office,” she said.

“A professional? Without an office? Something didn’t add up.”

Determined to get to the bottom of what was going on, Kelly launched an investigation.

“He didn’t get up before ten, he wore Black Sabbath t-shirts. As far as I could tell, he never attended any meetings.

“There was simply no way that this sort of thing would fly in any genuine professional environment, he’d be fired! Or at the very least, he’d receive a written warning from the HR department.”

Kelly decided to confront James.

“He confessed immediately – he didn’t own a suit and tie, or have an office, he did have a computer but he had neither PowerPoint nor Excel installed on it.

“He seemed to think that just by earning a healthy amount of money from playing videogames, he had the right to call himself a professional.

“Well in my book, that’s fraud.”

Kelly has contacted the authorities, and although there has, as yet, been no action taken, it is surely only a matter of time before James is arrested and locked away for a long time.
