A new Collectors Edition 4K Blu-ray edition of the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard deformation trial will be released in September of this year.
Fans of the trial can expect extended testimony, behind-the-scenes interviews with court officials and the Judge, and three commentaries – one by legal exports, another with the two lead attorneys, and one with Johnny’s Pirates of the Caribbean co-stars Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley.
There will also be a number of featurettes including one on the history of legal proceedings as entertainment, a documentary looking at the costumes and make-up created for Johnny and Amber for the trial, and an interesting look at Judge Penney Azcarate’s love of ceramics.
It will come in a special limited hard box with a poster for the trial, some badges, a reproduction court-pass for jurors, and a variety of other ephemera.
Fans were excited.
“Day one purchase, definitely,” said Stewart James, a frog tester from Chelmsford who has taken a sabbatical from work to watch the trial.
“I was hoping for a physical media release because I want to watch it all again. I mean, seeing it all live is amazing, but you miss things, little jokes, details in the background, subtleties in the attorneys’ language. You watch it all again two or three times and you’re going to pick all of that up.
“I’ll probably get two copies so I can put the poster on my wall, but keep the other one nicely sealed up.”
Plans for a special limited ‘Team Johnny’ edition with bonus, previously unseen misogynistic comment about Amber Heard have been scrapped because all the misogynistic comment about Amber Heard in the world is freely available all over the internet.
