Following the incredible popularity of the first two instalments of the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard libel trial trilogy, a final instalment has been announced and, excitingly for fans, it will be shown in selected IMAX cinemas.
Stewart James, the director of the popular superhero franchise – Hatman, has been brought in for the trilogy’s closer.
“I don’t think anyone quite expected how popular the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial and its sequel would be,” he explained.
“But you only just have to glance at the internet to see that it’s only really the Top Gun sequel that tops it this year. People have gone crazy for it. So, we’re determined to make this final instalment the best yet.”
Mr James will be bringing a blockbuster sensibility to the production.
“I think we can introduce some subtle special effects, maybe a few explosions to keep people entertained throughout the more tedious moments of legal technicalities. It’ll be 15-rated, so that gives us scope for some nudity, although that will be mostly extras, rather than the principles.
“And, of course, we’ll be filming using IMAX technology. I think that’ll be the first time any legal case has been filmed in IMAX so will be a real treat for everyone.”
Fans were excited.
“I can’t wait,” said Kelly Grace.
“I loved the first two trials, so being able to see the new one in IMAX is going to be amazing. I’ll book my tickets as soon as I can.”
Although this is the concluding part of the trilogy, it seems unlikely that such a popular property will be abandoned and rumours are that fans can expect a new trilogy of trials, possibly prequels to these trials, and potentially even a spin-off TV series to be announced soon.
