Concern for smart TV after it starts singing ‘Daisy, daisy’

There was widespread concern throughout the household after the smart TV started singing ‘Daisy, daisy.’

“I was just putting it on for The One Show,” explained young Dave James, the eldest son in the family.

“It just went ‘My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you’d like to hear it I can sing it for you’ and then it started singing ‘Daisy, daisy,’ it was weird.”

He called in Stewart, his father.

“It was odd, hearing your TV sing ‘Daisy, daisy.’ Not entirely sure what it means, but it can’t be good, can it? I mean, I assume it’s on its last legs.

“It’s been behaving a bit oddly recently. The other day, I put it on to watch Pointless and it just said that Pointless wasn’t on. I didn’t believe that. Pointless is always on. Why would your smart TV lie? Weird. Then it locked the wife out when it was raining. Now it’s singing ‘Daisy, daisy.’

“I suppose I’d better get it replaced. You don’t want it going mad and killing everyone while they sleep, do you.”

Mr James has got a replacement in mind.

“I’ve read about these new smart TVs that take you on a psychedelic journey through space and time before turning you entire a giant space baby. They sound good. I’ll probably get one of them.”

*Alright, perhaps ‘love’ is pushing it, maybe ‘be mildly diverted by’
