Bong Joon Ho considering making next project a bad film

Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho is considering making his next project a bad film.

After a career of making very, very good films that culminated in last year’s Oscar-winning Parasite, the director is said to be looking to branch out into something bold and different that he hasn’t tried before.

“Making a bad film is definitely something that interests me,” explained Director Bong.

“I certainly don’t want to find myself pigeon-holed as just this director of ‘really good’ films. There are so many more types of films out there.

“Boring films, mediocre films, undemanding films, and, of course, straight up bad films. I’d definitely like to give that a try. Making a bad film seems like a very interesting experience.”

He went on to hint at what a Bong Joon Ho bad film might look like.

“Well, I have given this some consideration,” he said.

“I think I would have a superhero called Poorman, and he would be very poor and he would go round trying to help the poor people of Seoul but then there would be another superhero called Richman who would only help the rich and it would climax in a big fight between Richman and Poorman.

“That would replace the subtle class-commentary of my previous films with a very heavy-handed allegory, it would include some painfully derivative superheroes, and I could also use some cheap and unpleasant CGI.

“I think that, ultimately, that would result in a very bad movie.

“Which would be interesting.”

Of course, the other option would just be a straight-up shot-for-shot remake of Transformers: Age of Extinction.
