New Call of Duty to allow players to romance campaign characters

Call of Duty: Shooty Men do the Shooting, the latest entry in the popular series, will soon introduce a deep dating mechanic that will allow players to date any other members of their squad.

“For years now, the Call of Duty series has been synonymous with shooting foreigners in the face to save the world,” explained designer Stewart James.

“But players’ ability to shape the characters in the games has been non-existent. This year, that all changes.

“At any point during the campaign, players will be able to press the triangle button to enter romance mode. This will let you send a note to a squad mate or leave them a small token of affection.

“That will then open up a dating game that will run throughout the campaign, allowing the player to collect new Call of Duty romance points. So, if you and your squad mate have a date, that’s 100 romance points, share a kiss – 200 romance points, and so on.

“The idea is to amass enough romance points to trigger a wedding at the end of the campaign.”

Fans were excited by the new development.

“This is just the best news,” said Barry Callofduty, a chartered surveyor from Colchester who is such a fan of the game, he had his name changed by deed poll.

“I loved Modern Warfare, but all the way through I just imagined that there was this attraction between Soap and Captain Price. It would have been brilliant if I could have been able to have them go on dates together and get romantic together.

“Can’t wait for this new one.”

Call of Duty: Shooty Men do the Shooting will release this Fall, and is rumoured to be followed by DLC that features a multiplayer battle royale dating game that will allow up to 100 players to try and date each other, eliminating single players until there are only two players left, who then get married.
