Best Movie Toilets, and other great listicles

Woman with laptop lying down on the floor with her laptop. listicles

Not really a list, not really an article. They’re listicles – part list, part article – and surely everyone who can’t really be bothered to read a proper article just loves them. Here are our top five favourite movie-based listicles.

1, Best Movie Toilets.

A tremendous listicle from the ‘Moviespunk’ blog that listed great movie toilets from the one in trainspotting to the one in The Godfather. It included some lovely pictures of the toilets, and information on the type of plumbing used. A truly fantastic listicle.

2, Top 10 Sci-Fi Films of 1982.

Tron? Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan? ET? Who knew that 1982 had so many great sci-fi films? The writers of this great listicle in the sadly defunct ‘Fiction of Science’ magazine certainly did, which is why it featured so prominently on page 9 of their May 2007 issue. Innovatively, the listicle featured star-ratings for each film, something other listicles have done since, but never to the same effect as this great listicle.

3, Five great films that morons like you wouldn’t ever bother watching because you’re obsessed with superhero movies. God, I hate you all.

A bold statement in listicle form from the ‘Le Musings in Cinematique’ website.  It currently stands at 32 views, which makes it, deservedly, the most viewed page on the site.

4, The Finest Knockers in Movies.

Hugely popular listicle about door knockers in films. Apparently, the most-visited movie-based listicle on the internet and also, for some reason, the most complained-about listicle on the internet.

5, Best Movie Toilets, and other great listicles.

A listicle of listicles? That includes itself in the listicle. This is the sort of listicle that could change the way we think about listicles. Destined to be a future classic.

*Alright, perhaps ‘love’ is pushing it, maybe ‘be mildly diverted by’
