Ambitious Netflix adaptation of the internet to run over 30,000 episodes

Netflix have announced a new prestige adaptation of the Internet to run over 30,000 episodes.

The streaming giant have promised a faithful adaptation that will encompass everything on the Internet, from impassioned debates about the relative merits of different Star Trek Captains to impassioned debates about the relative merits of different Doctor Whos.

“We wanted a project that would really show the ambition of Netflix as a program maker,” said Netflix chief Reed Hastings.

“We originally considered an adaptation of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, but that seemed a little old fashioned.”

Ultimately Mr Hastings settled on the Internet.

“Well, it’s got something for everyone, really – old Simpsons scripts, 1970s dinner party pictures, and crazy people arguing with each other about whether it’s ‘its’ or ‘it’s.’”

Mr Hastings was mindful of the depth of the enterprise he has embarked on.

“Oh man, don’t I know it. I mean, the moth memes alone are going to take up 42 episodes, and they barely lasted a weekend.

“We’re talking to Matt Damon about playing the moth.”

Mr Hastings was adamant about what the majority of episodes would focus on.

“Cat videos and porn. I mean that’s pretty much what the Internet is. So, fans can look forward to plenty of episodes featuring cat videos and porn.

“And some interesting, if enormously troubling, crossovers between the two.”

It is thought that after completing the adaptation of the Internet, Netflix will begin work on Internet 2 – an adaptation of all the new bits that were added to the Internet whilst they made the first adaptation.

It is thought that the new bits will mainly be videos of pigeons having sex and jokes how rubbish Dogtanian was.
