Following the success of last year’s all female remake of Ghostbusters, it has been announced that a new all-male remake of the all-female remake is currently being planned.
The all-female remake of Ghostbusters ushered in a slew of all-female remakes such as Lord of the Flies, Ocean’s 8, and, confusingly, The Beguiled.
“Well, look, the thinking is that an all-female remake of a picture can bring a whole new audience of women to the property,” said producer Kathleen Donner
“So, if we make an all-male remake of an all-female remake then that brings a whole new audience of guys to the property as well.
“This means that with, say, Ghostbusters, we’ll have male fans, female fans, and then more male fans.
“Then we do an all-female remake of the all-male remake of the all-female remake of Ghostbusters, and we get a new audience of women.
“If we keep going then, we think every human being on the planet could be a Ghostbusters fan by 2020.
“It’s just simple maths.”
As a side-note, it is expected that the all-male remake of the all-female remake of Ghostbusters will provoke no women to write long, vitriolic, barely coherent rants on the internet about people being unable to catch ghosts because of the nature of their genitals.
Which makes a nice change.
