Worrying! Still unclear how cinema-goers will control Nate in upcoming Uncharted film

With a matter of months until the release of the Uncharted film, there is increasing concern about the lack of any information regarding how cinema-goers will control Nate onscreen.

“We’ve been told nothing,” said Stewart James, who runs the Bexhill Fancyscreen cinema.

“I mean, are we meant to have PlayStation controllers installed? Will people need some sort of phone app?

“We’re running out of time a bit here, if we don’t get any information soon then people are just going to come and see this Uncharted film and it’ll just be Nate standing onscreen not moving for a couple of hours.”

Uncharted fans were excited, but were also a little worried about the lack of information.

“That bit in the second game where the train is hanging off the cliff? That’s amazing,” said a clearly excited Kelly Grace, a fan of the series.

“Having that on the big screen is going to be brilliant, but it’s just how the controllers are going to work that I don’t get.

“What if I want Nate to turn left, but the person next to me wants him to turn right? Then you’ve got a girl in the row behind trying to get him to jump and the guy in front trying to make him shoot. That’s not going to work.

“When I used to play at home with my sister, we’d get into fights all the time about who was controlling Nate. If it’s not clear how we control him in the film, then you’re going to have a cinema full of people all having a fight about getting him to jump over a ravine or whatever.”

With just over a month until the film’s release, there is still plenty of time to announce a coherent control-scheme, but as each day passes without such an announcement, the fear increases that it will just be an on-rails experience with minimal input from the viewer. Which would be a terrible disappointment after Uncharted 4.
