Tron: Arse, the latest instalment in the long-running Tron franchise will tell the story of an ordinary arse that gets computerised and trapped inside a computer.
“I was never really sure that there was scope for another Tron sequel,” explained producer Stewart James.
“But then I was looking at my arse in the mirror one day and I thought, what if I had a computerised arse? I mean, that’s a bizarre and terrifying prospect, right? But then, even worse. What if I had a computerised arse and then my arse became trapped within a computer and was tormented by Jared Leto? That was it. I knew I had a movie. More than that, I had a Tron movie that could stand with any Tron movie.”
The trailer reveals a plot which seems to show Evan Peters as Julian Dillinger, an ordinary man who is just going about his business getting some coffee. Suddenly Jared Leto, an AI being who has been sent into the real world from the computer world, grabs Dillinger’s arse and computerises it and takes it into the computer world, leaving Dillinger without an arse. Faced with an arseless life, Dillinger decides to take matters into his own hands and enters the computer world to reclaim his own computerised arse.
Disney Pictures have denied that there was any confusion around the name of the film and that they always knew it was called Tron: Arse, and they definitely didn’t think the name was Tron: Ares, which is actually quite a cool and mysterious name.
