A leading online political commentator has launched an extraordinary attack on Superman calling the man of steel ‘woke’ and claiming that saving California from falling into the sea was ‘virtue signalling.’
“He is so typical of the woke liberal elite,” raged Kelly Grace, a firebrand online commentator.
“Saving California from collapsing into the ocean after the San Andreas fault, perfectly naturally, triggered an earthquake. It was virtue signalling. Pure and simple.
“He doesn’t care about the real people of this country. He just cares about being on the TV and showing off about how great he is. Believe me, he wouldn’t have saved California if there hadn’t have been all those cameras there.
“And it was California he saved. Home of the wokists. What if it was Wyoming that was falling into the ocean? I bet he wouldn’t have been so quick to save Wyoming, would he?
“And, let’s get real here, why doesn’t Superman ever stand up and say there’s a problem with immigration? Because that doesn’t fit in with his woke agenda, that’s why.”
Grace’s words appear to have struck a chord with many Americans.
“I’m sick of all his ‘Truth, Justice and the American way’ stuff,” said Stewart James, an irrationally angry man from Texas.
“That’s just woke rubbish. What about what real Americans think? We’re just trying to get to work and live our lives. Does Superman care about any of that? No, he’s off saving a Mexican church from collapsing. He should just go back to Krypton.”
Ms Grace called on Superman to debate ‘real issues’ with her, but unfortunately, he was too busy defeating General Zod. Someone who Ms Grace claimed had ‘some interesting ideas.’
