The Boot, a Hollywood remake of Das Boot, in development

A major new remake of the German classic Das Boot is in development.

Called The Boot, the remake will tell the story of someone’s boot.

“People think I’m crazy. Making a film about a boot. They say ‘Stewart, you’re crazy.’ I’m not crazy,” insists producer Stewart James.

“This is a classic film. This is a film that is held in great esteem around the world, but because it’s in German, no one’s even watched it. My remake will change all that.”

As yet, details of the plot are being kept under wraps. But Stewart promises a complex and action-packed tale.

“Oh man. This is going to be something else. It’s got everything. It’s got people. People not speaking German. Obviously, it’s also got a boot. A great boot. Perhaps the greatest boot in film history. 

“I’m not going to get too much into the story now but, you know, there’s a guy, he gets a boot, the bad guys want the boot…look, it doesn’t matter, the Germans made a great film about a boot. If they can do it, then our remake is going to be just as impressive.”

Stewart admitted that he hasn’t actually seen the original film.

“No. Are you kidding? It’s in German. And it’s about a boot.”
