Stranger Things shock: The Upside-Down actually Croydon

Details of the new series of Stranger Things have emerged and it seems fans will finally learn the shocking truth of the Upside-Down – that it’s actually Southern London suburb Croydon.

The Upside-Down has fascinated fans since the series began and exactly what the horrifying, desolate, evil place was has remained a mystery until now.

“Yeah, you know I thought that people would have got that by now,” said Ross Duffer, one of the brothers who created the hit Netflix show.

“I mean, if you’ve ever been to Croydon then the resemblance is incredible, I mean, we really nailed that.”

“I thought people would figure it out in the first show, when you first see the Upside-Down, you can make out a gang of demonic looking lads on bikes smoking fags by a hellish precinct.”

The third season will see Will get trapped in the Upside-Down and have his friends figure out that he’s actually in Croydon and so fly into the UK to save him.

“Yeah, there’ll be some real jeopardy there as they’ll be flying into Gatwick Airport and they’ll need to take a Southern train to Croydon so there’s a real concern that they’ll never be seen again.”

If the third series is as popular as the first two, then season four will see the boys battling to rescue their friend from a new, even more awful Upside-Down.
