Seemingly having learnt their lesson following the controversy surrounding the microtransactions in Star Wars: Battlefront II, EA have announced that all microtransactions can be removed from their new Jedi: Fallen Order game.
A microtransaction will be available from the Extras menu that will allow the user to remove all microtransactions from the game for $9.99.
“We got a lot of push-back for decisions made in our previous game,” said EA spokesperson Satan.
“On reflection, it was a mistake to include loot boxes, microtransactions and the guy coming round to your house to demand cash or he’ll break your arms.
“So, this time, we’re leaving the microtransactions entirely in the player’s hands.
“You want them? There they are, you don’t want them? Not a problem, for a nominal fee they can be hidden.”
Whilst gamers will feel this is a step forward, others will be confused as to why EA didn’t just strip the microtransactions out completely.
“It’s a valid question,” replied Satan.
“That’s why, we will be releasing new DLC for the game shortly afterwards that will do just that. It will completely remove all reference to the microtransactions. They’ll be completely stripped out. It will be like they were never there.
“That will be available a week after launch for just fifteen bucks.”
