With The Rise of Skywalker concluding the Skywalker saga, a new storytelling era is about to begin.
The latest official expansion to the Star Wars universe will be ‘The Age of Last Weekend.’
Set a long, long time after events of the Skywalker trilogy, stories and comics set in this new era will detail events that happened last weekend, including popping to the shows, going out for a few drinks and watching the football.
“It was time to bring Star Wars bang up to date, to make it relevant to people’s lives,” explained Lucas film’s James Waugh.
“Instead of all that mad old nonsense about midichlorians, space-goblins and snogging your sister, this new era will reflect what is happening in the Star Wars universe right now.
“So, there’s Barry Solo – he works in IT, but does a bit of DJing on the side. Kevin Skywalker is in a band, and Leia Johnson is about to graduate as a lawyer.
“They all share a flat and ‘The Age of Last Weekend’ will detail a the crazy, madcap things they got up to last weekend.”
The first major story arc in the new storytelling era will feature Barry joining a local theatre group and Kevin and Leia getting roped in to help out with props and set-building.
“Leia gets involved with the director and Kevin suspects the theatre might be haunted.
“I tell you, there is some crazy stuff happening in Star Wars last weekend.”
Other forthcoming stories include Barry getting his haircut, Leia trying to make her new boyfriend dinner, and Kevin joining a local football team.
