Ryan Gosling confirms he isn't Ryan Reynolds

Following years of speculation and not a little confusion, Ryan Gosling has finally confirmed that he isn’t Ryan Reynolds.

It was in 2016 that speculation began that Ryan Gosling was Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Reynolds was, in fact, Ryan Gosling. Or one or the other. Or both.

The confusion seemed to arise from the fact that both were handsome men called Ryan who were coming to prominence in Hollywood at the time.

Neither has been able to shake speculation that they were the other one since then.

“I can confirm that I am Ryan Gosling. I am not Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Reynolds is Ryan Reynolds,” explained Ryan Gosling.

“I was in Drive, Blade Runner and La La Land whereas Ryan Reynolds was in Deadpool, Deadpool 2 and possibly some other things.

“We are entirely different people.”

Fans were left shocked.

“So, wait,” spluttered a baffled Stewart James, a fan of who he thought was Ryan Reynolds.

“Ryan Reynolds wasn’t in The Nice Guys? With Russell Crowe? That was actually Ryan Gosling? You’re kidding me, right? That’s crazy. I can’t believe it.

“To be honest, I’m a little cross about it, now I think about it.

“I mean, couldn’t they have anticipated this? Two actors called Ryan? Of course people are going to think it’s the same man. What they should have done is got together and decided one of them will be called Larry, or Nathaniel, or something.”

Whilst it seems likely that Ryan Gosling’s announcement will put an end to any lingering doubt that he might be Ryan Reynolds, without any similar announcement from Ryan Reynolds, there is still likely to be speculation that Ryan Reynolds might, in fact, be Ryan Gosling.

Leaving no one quite knowing where they are.
